Adam Lind : No MLB for you!

 

It’s pretty much offical, Adam Lind is headed back to AAA after hitting .394 there last year.

 

 

If you head over to www.milb.com there is an interview with Jays player development director, Dick Scott. The interview covers a few different topics, but the area of most interest to any Jays fan would have to be his thoughts on Lind. He gives the old “he’s pushing the envelope in camp” comment, but he reiterates what we have here at Mop Up Duty. He’ll start the year in AAA to get some Abs and to work on his defense. Scott on sending Lind to AAA:

 

“I think it would help him to work on his defense a little bit, which is improving steadly.”

 

That pretty much seals it. Lind is getting the slow treatment. It will be interesting to see how this effects his start of the year production. Last season, after a hot spring the Indians sent Andy Marte down to AAA, electing to start hoops star Aaron Boone at third. To say this screwed with Marte’s confidence would be an understatement. Let’s hope that Adam can exhibit some of the clichéd “mental toughness” and push the Jays front office into giving him some MLB playing time.
