Blue Jays World Series Rosters

Blue Jays World Series Rosters

While putting in some quick research time for a freelance article I became amazed when looking at these World Series winning clubs. Afterwards I came to one conclusion: The Jays World Series rosters were stacked!

A grand total of 24 MLB all-stars suited up for the Jays in 1992 or 1993.

Batters:

John Olerud, Kelly Gruber, Devon White, Ed Sprague, Joe Carter, Roberto Alomar, Jeff Kent, Shawn Green, Carlos Delgado, Tony Fernandez and Alfredo Griffin.

Pitchers:

Dave Stieb, Jack Morris, Jimmey Key, Pat Hentgen, Al Leiter, Juan Guzman, David Cone, Tom Henke, Dave Stewart, and Woody Williams.

Add to that list three Hall of Famers.

Dave Winfield, Paul Molitor, and Rickey Henderson

Here’s the ultimate question. We know that some played only sparingly during these season but even still, with this much talent depth how did the Jays not win 100 games in either season?

the 1993 team was especially strong it seemed. For the most part these teams led wire to wire and may not have been pushed in the dog days.

Duane Ward was never an all-star? I think Danny Cox was on the 93 team as well, I am surpised he was never an all-star in StL.

I was surprised by both not being on an all-star team as well. Cox won close to 20 games once in the early 80’s and Ward was an innings eating stud with a 2 something era. I also figured Derek Bell would have picked up an all-star nod in San Diego.
