Bowman Chrome Draft Picks & Prospects 2006 Mini Box Break
Yesterday I picked up a retail box of Bowman Draft Picks & Prospects Baseall Cards. The box ($20) included 8 packs. Each pack contains 2 base MLB rookie uniform cards, 2 Draft or Future base cards, 1 Gold card, and 2 Chrome cards. The base cards have little financial value—although I like them—as the Chrome cards are all the rage. The set also includes autographed cards, futures game worn jersey cards, and numbered cards to 25, 50, 199, 275 & 500.
This is the only set that I buy a box or two of each year. I’m a big prospect guy, so that’s the tie in. One other note, the back of each card gives a little scouting report of the player’s skills or some quirk. For example, even though Jon Lester throws left-handed, he uses his right hand to write & eat. Or 1st round draft pick Hank Conger (Angels) “Combines notable home run power from both sides of the plate with strong throwing arm.â€
Here’s some of the highlights of what I got (or “pulled”);
Base MLB Rookie Cards:
Howie Kendrick
Jason Kubel
Jered Weaver
Jeremy Hermedia
Jeremy Sowers
Jon Lester
Josh Johnson
Josh Willingham
Base 2006 Draft Pick Rookies:
Hank Conger
George Kontos
Dustin Richardson
Base Prospect Cards:
Homer Bailey
Gio Gonzalez
Humberto Sanchez
Draft Pick Rookie Chrome Cards
Yung Chi Chen
Tyler Colvin
Future’s Game Worn Jersey
Jaime Garcia
Refractor (#’d 500) Draft Pick Autograph
Tommy Hickman
Awesome box! The two Chrome Rookies (Chen & Colvin) are some of the better prospects in the set, I got a game used jersey and my first ever “good pull†with the Tommy Hickman numbered Autograph card.
High Recommendation!!
