This is the most exciting news I have heard in a while. Many of you know I love me some Mexican baseball. As well, I am of the opinion that Danny McBride’s Eastbound & Down is the funniest low-brow humour show on television today. It looks like a few of my favourite things will be merging together for Season 2 of Eastbound & Down.
In attempt to hide from his many problems, Kenny Powers heads south to Mexico and catches on with a local team. Kenny gets a new love interest in the form of Ana de la Reguera, who played Ignacio’s love interest in Nacho Libre.
Because of the new setting, most of the cast from Season 1 will not be returning. Luckily little Steve Janowski will be returning as he tracks down Kenny in Mexico. Are you surprised? No word on whether Clegg will be making a return appearance but it would be a great loss for the show if he doesn’t return.
Production will begin next month in Puerto Rico. No word yet on when Season 2 will air.
Update: From Kenny Powers’ official Twitter account, we get confirmation that Season 2 will air in September. The premiere will be September 26.
