The Final Meltdown
With three games to go here are my predictions on how the especailly the NL will shake out.
The American League is pretty much layed out. The biggest advantage here may be who will have to go out west to play the Angels. It seems like the winner of the AL East will play the Angels and they are 2 games behind the Indians for best record in the AL. I do not see any flip flop in the standings here. The Yanks and Red Sox will give their rookies a chance and will sort out their rotation instead of battling for the AL East. Yanks @ Indians, Angels @ Red Sox.
The National League may be very interesting. The Colorado Rockies, Philadelphia Phillies have been playing out of their heads while the Mets have been in a nosedive while the Brewers and Cubs struggle and the DBacks and Padres have been holding their own. I predict that the Wild Card will come out of the NL West. The DBacks go to Colorado, who are tough at home and have a 11 game win streak in tow. I cannot see the Rockies sweeping Arizona. This win would give ‘Zona a spot in the playoffs. Even if they take a single game in Denver they they will force the Padres to sweep in Milwaukee which I cannot see happening. If Milwaukee can’t sweep SD (which they won’t) the Cubs will have to win a single game in Cincinnati against the lowly Reds (which they will do). In the NL East the Mets have been bad at home and bad against the Marlins and bad in general as of late. I feel the Phillies will take the East and the Mets will be out of the playoffs. My picks, Chi @ Arz, SD @ Phi.
Should be interesting, but with two games leads in most spots it isn’t as close as it could be.
