Spring Training Notes March 3rd

Updates on Soriano, Garza, Ichiro & others.
Matt Garza will make his Rays debut with a start this afternoon. Scheduled to relieve him is our #9 prospect Jake McGee.
Ichiro and the Mariners are set to face Fukodome and the Cubs in their first North American match-up. 3:05 eastern on MLB.TV
Soriano fractured the top of his right finger during batting drills on Sunday. The report is that he’ll be sidelined for five days. It will be interesting to watch how Soriano handles the bat for the rest of the spring.
Lastings Milledge has already hit three doubles and swiped two bags this spring in his bid to gain a full-time gig in Washington.
Jack Cust has been to the plate seven times this spring. In those PA’s he’s collected two doubles, two home runs and three walks.
Set to be the Marlins #1 starter heading into the season, Scott Olsen has already started two games.
The Rays have stolen seven bases as a team in four games.
