Surfing around this morning I found a nice little blog dedicated to Buck O’Neil.  The author of the blog has just completed a book on Buck O’Neil titled “The Soul of Baseball – A Road Trip Through Buck O’Neil’s America”.  ESPN’s Rob Neyer says about the book, “If you’re a baseball fan, if you’ve got any heart at all … you’ll love the book (as I did).”

Anyway, in this blog there is an entertaining scouting report on “the Natural” Roy Hobbs.  One of the blog’s readers actually tried to compute what Hobbs’ stats would have been.  For all you statheads out there, it is a fun read as we wind down Spring Training.
