DAN ROHN has been hired to manage Las Vegas of the Pacific Coast League (AAA). The 53 year old most recently managed the Fresno Grizzlies (AAA) in the San Francisco organization for the past three seasons. The Alpena, Michigan native has now been a manager or coach in professional baseball for 20 seasons earning PCL Manager of the Year honours in 2004 & 2005. A former 4th round selection of the Cubs, Rohn played in 54 games over three seasons with the Cubs & Indians.
Rohn replaces the recently dismissed Mike Basso who led the 51s to a last place finish in the PCL this past season.
