Vernon Wells Out for a Month

Vernon Wells Out for a Month (at least)

Vernon Wells has pulled his hamstring and is out for at least a month.

Wells will need to take an MRI to see the extent of the damage.

Keep in mind that the month estimation comes from J.P Ricciardi.

Right now, preliminarily, I’d say he’s going to miss four weeks

Poor Vernon. About a week earlier MLB.com Jays writer Jordan Bastian conducted an interview with Vernon, who was singing the praises of his off-
season workout regime:

Going through what I went through this offseason, my body is in a better place than it ever has been. It’ll allow everything else to fall into place… We invest in so many different things. One of the most important things you can invest in is your body, especially in the position that I’m in.

Wells was coming off a stellar second-half in 2008, where he posted a .932 OPS.

I just hope Vernon gets this out of his system now, and is ready to deliver starting on Opening Day. We need a big year from him, and can’t afford to have him on the DL more than once this year.
