Wild Proclamations Revisited

Wild Proclamations Revisited

Dustin McGowan

Now that we are approximately 1/3 of the way through the season, I’d like to take a look back at my Wild Proclamations and see how I fared.

Tampa Bay will finish ahead of Baltimore

Right now TB is in last place, but only 2.5 games back of 2nd place Baltimore.  The AL East is a train wreck and anything can happen here.

AJ Burnett will start 28 games or more

AJ has not missed any starts so far (knock on wood) and at this pace will start 30+ games.

Pujols will win the NL Triple Crown

Not looking good so far.  Pujols has been playing well below his standards.  Is he hurt? I don’t know, but in his last 8 games he is .424, 1 HR, 4 RBI, 5 R.  He just might be coming around.

Dustin McGowan Wins 10

Things were not looking good for me in regards to this prediction until last night when McGowan pitched a gem of a game against the Yankees.  Does anyone else notice he looks a lot like Jim Halpert from the Office?

Randy Johnson will pitch less than 80IP

He has pitched a reasonably effective 35.2 innings so far, but the jury is still out on this one!!

I thought you did more WP than this?

McGowan has a shot at 10 wins, if only for the number of starts he’s likely to receive.

Burnett has been great of late but every outing is close to 110 pitches. I expect a break down around the all-star break.
