Halladay: “you find a way to win games”

Wins are important to Roy Halladay.

After Roy took home to the 2010 NY Cy Young, he shared this quote when asked about Felix Hernandez’s chances at the AL CY Young, even with a 13-12 record.

“Obviously, Felix’s numbers are very, very impressive,”…

“Ultimately, you look at how guys are able to win games. Sometimes, you find a way to win games.”

Halladay is a no-nonsense individual. It’s pretty much a given that he’s one of the hardest working players in the MLB, is driven and goal oriented. Those goals have to include wins. He doesn’t make any excuses for anything less than a W.

Roy Halladay’s Winning Ways:

  • 169 – 86 career record
  • Only 28 more losses (86) than complete games (58)
  • Currently #1 in Active Winning Percentage
  • #16 All-time in winning percentage (2nd behind Pedro over past 30 years)
  • Is Roy talking out of his ass or do wins really matter, even in todays age of Sabermetrics?
