So there’s not too much to write about lately. Well maybe there is but I don’t feel like it. And can you blame me? The most riveting Jays news is the impending shut down of some young starting pitchers. Around the game playoff races are heating up but aren’t hot just yet. I feel miserable that the Jays are so far out of it after that early tease that I need to remember the good times. As Julie Andrews put it so succinctly: “When the dog bites, when the bee stings, when I’m feeling sad… I simply remember my favourite things and then I don’t feel so bad!”
So here it is, a mailed in photo post.
Marco Scutaro, Aaron Hill, and Vernon Wells celebrate after defeating the Texas Rangers in their MLB American League baseball game in Toronto, April 23, 2009. This is a celebration we grew accustomed to seeing in the early stages of this heartbreaking season.
At the beginning of May, the prodigal son AJ Burnett returned to the Rogers Centre for an epic duel with the Doc. To say the Jays fans were excited about this is an understatement…
AJ failed. Halladay won. Great times for everyone.
Kelly Gruber attended at least 3 Flashback Fridays this season. What a great ass.
Nelson Liriano and Tony Fernandez popped back into town for a Jays Care suarez. Age has not been kind to Nelson.
John Olerud (R) Paul Molitor (C) and Robbie Alomar (L) pose at Rogers Centre as members of the Toronto Blue Jays 1992 and 1993 World Series teams were on hand for reunion ceremonies, prior to the team’s American League MLB baseball game against the Baltimore Orioles in Toronto August 7, 2009. In 1993 they were one, two, three in major league batting average respectively. Studs!
Pam Beasly played in the Celebrity Softball Game. This has long been a fantasy of mine and it came true. Proof that “The Secret” actually works.
Jaypeg. Get it? HA ha ah aha ah ah ah aah ah ah aaha ah aha aha a aha hh h a a h ah.
Snake Face is the new champ.
As Jason Portuondo would say, “here’s Halladay rolling into the club like a pimp”…. or something along those lines.
A Mop Up Duty original.
I received this on my birthday. It is the best gift I have ever received, even if Gregg is no longer a Jay.
Finally, the piéce de resistance. Roy Halladay about to wail on a guitar.
Hat tip to Drunk Jays fans for linking these great comics. This one depicts fellow MUD writer Early and I at the ballgame to a tee. This one is quite good as well.

The one of A.J. looking into the dugout, and Doc responding with his death stare, is worthy of a Pulitzer.
Great pics.
Don’t forget the look Vernon Wells gives in that picture, too. For a “mailed in” post, this is better than the majority of my posts. Thanks for the laughs.
I’m with eyeB on this one, the death stare from Doc was priceless. The only other one I can think of that wasn’t in this post was Rod Barajas sprawled across home plate after he ran first to home plate. Good times.
Glad to see that I’m not the only one was has a crush on Pam Beesley/Jennifer Fischer. Dy-No-Mite!
